Golota Isaac Lamah

Manager, Environment and Community Relations

Golota Isaac Lamah was promoted to the position of Environmental and Community Relations Manager of Guinea Alumina Corporation (GAC) in April 2022.

Mr. Lamah has more than 15 years of experience in managing and mitigating environmental and social risks and integrating sustainability into projects and programs in Guinea and abroad. In Guinea, Mr. Lamah provided environmental leadership and technical support for the development of Rio Tinto's Simandou and AMC Bauxite projects. He also worked for the World Bank Group in Washington DC as an Environmental and Social Development Specialist, supporting environmental and social compliance for multiple projects in low- and middle-income countries. Later, as the Manager of the Water Resources Management Unit in the Province of Nova Scotia, Canada, Mr. Lamah contributed to the design of water resources and environmental policies and regulations. Mr. Lamah’s experience also includes the provision of environmental and community-based expertise as a consultant to multiple Green Climate Fund (GCF) and Global Environment Facility (GEF) funded projects and programs in Africa and the Caribbean.

Mr. Lamah holds a degree in physical sciences from the University of Kankan (Guinea). He also holds a Master of Science in Environmental Management from the University of Derby (UK) and a Post-graduate Certificate in Water Resources Development from the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (Switzerland).

Mr. Lamah is a member of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) in the UK. He is a qualified ISO 14001 (environmental management systems) and ISO 9001 (quality management systems) auditor.
