Dr. Fred Kabike Biraja joined GAC in 2020 as Chief Medical Officer after serving several years as a medical project officer for a GAC subcontractor.
Dr. Biraja has worked for many private emergency medical service providers including MSS, WTMC, iNHEMACO and acquired a significant experience in the humanitarian field with the German Emergency Doctors (Cap Anamur Committee). He also has experience in emergency medicine and remote site medicine.
He has served in many countries in Africa: Congo, Sudan, RCA, Liberia, Madagascar, Uganda and has conducted multiple missions in Côte d'Ivoire and Tchad in refugee camps for medical pre-travel assessment of displaced persons and refugees.
Dr. Biraja holds a medical degree from the Democratic Republic of Congo and a master’s degree in Public Health - Health Promotion Intervention from the University of Lorraine in France.
He also has a Competency Certificate in Travel Medicine from the University of Wits in South Africa and hold other certifications in emergency medicine from various training institutions.
Dr. Biraja is registered as a medical doctor with the National Council of the Order of Medical Doctors of the Democratic Republic of Congo and the Republic of Guinea.
